ADSM and new TSM Versions

TSM started out as ADSTAR, Distributed Storage Mananger (ADSM). ADSM was available until Version 3.1.

After ADSM 3.1 it was renamed to Tivoli Storage Manger beginning with Version 3.7 and above. Beginning with V 3.7 TSM supported SANs, fixed DB aggregate problem, contained application performance enhancements, allowed for the incorporation of more Tivoli Brand products, and released more Connect Agents for supporting other Applications.

Beginning with V 3.7 (TSM) contact 1-800-TIVOLI-8 instead of 1-80-IBM-AIX for support. You must have an IBM Service contract for TSM Support in order to receive support from IBM. Your support contract can be fee based per incident, 24 X 7, or during business hours only.

ADSM 3.1 is no longer supported.

TSM 3.7 was supported until October 2001.
