At version 5, scanned save sets showed a status of "scanned". Now at version 6, I see scanned save sets with a status of "browsable". Why is this?

This is one of the improvements you get with 6.x. Previously the save sets acquired this special status of "scanned" to stop them from expiring immediately. The problem was that scanned save sets never expired and had to be recycled manually, which was a bit inconvenient. With the new structure, the expiry and browse periods can be re-applied to these save sets after they have been scanned in, so no need for the "scanned" status.

FYI the save sets take the currently defined browse and retention period from the time of the scanning.
