You can either purchase the Vault option or write a procedure and scripts to do this using bpduplicate.

(My opinion, FWIW, is that Vault, although not perfect, is worth the price you pay for it. Your own scripts will take years to reach the level of flexibility and granularity that NBU Vault has -- Curtis.)
