How do I backup up a Network Appliance with NetWorker?

There are two options:

  1. Back it up via a NFS/CIFS mount. This is slow, and you may not preserve CIFS ACLs.
  2. NDMP is available in 6.0, and it seems to work pretty well. This is the supported way, as far as NetApp is concerned.
  3. There used to be something called the the "NetApp Client Pak." This is no longer available.

I am running Networker 6.0.2 on Unix. I needed the following Enablers to get NDMP running (to allow incoming NDMP backup requests to be services):

 NDMP Client Connections / 1
 SnapImage (part of Celestra): a separate package and separate enabler program
