How do I rename a client in Networker 6.0.x?

To rename a client in Networker 6.0.1 and above one follows the same procedure as for older versions (asked previously in the FAQ) with one exception:

One must use the client id string of the old client name when adding the new client.

1. Get the old client id string/number..before you delete the client. To get the old client id string one can copy it by hand from the nwadmin, client window (with details turned on). One can also use nsradmin...commands listed below:

nsradmin> option hidden nsradmin> . NSR client nsradmin> print

Pick your client out of the list, highlight the client id string with the mouse into the mouse/keyboard buffer.

3. Add the new client in nwadmin. nwadmin, client setup, view detail. enter the new client name the client id field will editable, paste the old client id string from above here.

This will make the new client name pick up all the old media index information from the old client.
