Processes can be forced to write
debug logs by creating a log directory for each process under /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/<process>/
on Unix, or <install_path>\VERITAS\NetBackup\Logs\Process.
Logs that can be created are listed in the table below:
Master Server Logs
- bpadm - Admin
- bprd ~V request daemon
- bpdbm ~V database manager
- bpsched ~V backup scheduler
- xbpadm ~V X administrator interface
- xbpmon ~V job monitor
Media Server Activity Logs
- bpbrm ~V Backup/Restore Manager
- bpcd ~V Client Daemon
- bptm ~V Media manager for tape
- bpdm ~V Disk Manager
Client Logs
- bp ~V Menu user interface (curses)
- bparchive ~V Client archive program
- bpbackup ~V client backup program
- bplist ~V lists backup and archive images
- bprestore ~V client restore program
- bpbkar ~V manages backups and archives
- bpcd ~V client daemon
- bphdb ~V hot database backup program
- db_log - backup log for databases
These logs dirs doesn't exist by default. To activate any particular logging you have to create a dir. Otherwise don't keeps your hope high if you have installed the software and didn't create these dirs
