We have an account that created all the backup jobs for our server, but we will be disabling that account very soon; is it possible to change the username for those backup jobs to another user.

Why would you disable the acct before its jobs expire?

Let me re-word this again, the old account that created the scheduled back up jobs needs to be disabled for some restructuring reason. We want another administrator account to be used by backupexec as the login credentials for those jobs.

Currently we are getting the error, only the user that created these jobs can modify them.

Hello Evan,

I guess you can do it by this way..
Create a Windows login account with ADMINISTRATOR rights and then add the same account to BE console as follows:

Step 1) Open BE console---> Click on Network-->Logon Accounts----> Click on New and input the logon credentials of the New Administrator account which you created --> Click on OK.

Step 2) Now Highlight the account (OLD Admin Account which you want to disable) and then click on REPLACE and then when the window pops up, select the NEW admin account. This will automatically replaces the Old admin account with New admin account and all the JOBS which have connectivity to other clients thru the OLD account will access with New admin account now on.

Hope that helps you...
