Protect BEs own database

Hi!

If running BE 2010 on two Windows 2008R2-server, both with each local SQL2005 Express database.

Is BE SQL-agent required to protect those databases? Or is there any built-in license/feature for this?

BackupExec each night by default will dump it's database as a flat file.

Just pick up those files in a backup job.

Thanks for reply, do you know If I can change the time for this dump? As
I want it to be as current as possible before backing it up to tape.

Also do you know any documentations about this?

Regards
Anders

Go under Tools >> Options

You'll find it there as an option something about Database maintenance perhaps? This is also I believe documented in the manual and support KB..
The Support KB is actually quite good for finding things if you dont mind using various keyword searches.

That way there is always an off site backup which should be up-to-date to the last day in case of a fire etc.
The reality is, can it be setup like this? And what will happen if they forget to remove a disk and say left the daytime disk in by mistake?
