Enterprise cloud backup?

Does anyone have any pros/cons to offer on enterprise cloud backup
versus backup to your own equipment? Anyone have any experience, even
from just testing or a trial offer? What if data is stored in one
location but accessed and managed by multiple, remote offices?

I know that's a big (vague?) question, especially without specifics
regarding one's needs and environment, and the term may be ambiguous
since there's a lot of room to expand the definition of "backup", e.g.
FTP server replication until one's physical server can be replaced or
whatever ails it, etc., versus traditional data backup/recovery. Yep,
big question [sigh ...].

Thanks,

George
