We enabled jumbo frames just for our Exchange backups, and that helped. TSM server is a p740, 2 10Gb NICs. Backups used to go direct to LTO4 tape which worked ok, but now go to FILE (7200 SAS-NL). ...

This is what we do to spread the load.

Does anyone who is using TSM for Space Management (aka HSM) know if it can be used to share out filesystems using NFS (or CIFS)? Or are there timeout problems that make this unworkable?

I would be happy to be proven wrong on this, but I believe that snapdiff for CIFS is only supported on Windows. snapdiff for NFS is supported on AIX and Linux.
