Hi

Is there any way to do a restore without having the media to merge the database? Is this merge database on the hard drive? Also when it asks for the "details" it does not give me a tape serial number, just an id.

Any way around having the media? I could have sworn years ago I was able to get merge data from disk.

Or am I SOL?

In ARCserve
a tape can be "merged"
a database can be "recovered"
a merger can be run on any tape either all sessions or a specific one
a restore can be done with the database
a restore can be done without the database
a Restore By Backup Media will restore a specific session
or it can be selective if a filter is used
