Backup Central

Hello,

We have a server with Brightstor v11.5 and we have done the update SP4. After this, we have a problem with the saves: E3711

Any help is welcome

The error code at the beginning of the message is just the general catagory for the error and is used to make it easy to point out the event.

Look to the complete message such as the error code at the end of the message and what was being processed at the time.

The error is:

"E3711 - Impossible d'ouvrir la session. (CE=000006E7)"
(impossible to open session)

How often does this error happen?

We have this error every day with the job to save the system and files on tapes (Travan).

Setup a new job to see if it happens.

With a new job is the same thing, the same error.

Close the Manager
stop all the services
rename the directory 00000001.qsd
start it up
create a new job

if it works then the problem was a corrupt queue.

The new job return the same error:
E3711 07/10/2010 20:37:39 19 1 Impossible d'ouvrir la session. (CE=000006E7)
E3711 07/10/2010 20:37:39 19 1 Impossible to open session. (CE=000006E7)


I have done a test to do a save of the server with the trial of Yosemite Server Backup: the save is ok... the problem is realy with Brightstor...

OK so we know it is not due to a corrupt queue.

Try a Count and a Copy job to see if they run, also try setting up a FSD File System Device and see if it will backup to that.

With the FSD activated, i have there errors :

W3832 Impossible de trouver un média vierge.
E3721 Impossible d'écrire sur le média car le seuil spécifié sur l'unité de système est atteint.
E3855 Impossible de positionner le média.
E1517 [STOCKAGE INTERMEDIAIRE]Impossible d'obtenir le mappage des noms de sessions depuis le moteur de bandes.

I think is because i have not enough space on the FSD drive.
