Post Job failed to complete due to inability to find media
Hi,

Currently I'm using CA ARCserve backup r11.5 for Linux. I have been facing this issue whereby my jobs are unable to complete due to the inability to find the media for backup as stated in the Job Logs.

After which, I went into the Device Manager and tried to load those media into the target Drive and was returned an error message saying "Failed to load (0,4,1) - Return status -> illegal command". I'm unable to load those media into that particular tape drive (0,4,1). I have no problem in loading other media tapes into the other tape drive.

Everytime i face this problem, as a workaround, I do a cstop and cstart at the backup server, after which, the backup tape will start performing a scanning of the media tapes. After the scanning, the backup tape will start slotting each tape into both tape drives to do some sort of a re-inventory listing. Only after the completion of those task, I will be able to load the media into the tape drive (0,4,1) and perform those jobs that were failed previously.

This workaround seems to solve the problem, but the problem will come back again in one or two days time. Do anyone know what actually cause this problem and the proper solution to this?
