I'm trying to restore by session,
when I choose the source it asks me whether to merge the session,
than the merge operation asks to mount a certain media which is already mounted!!
Why is that ???

Run a Regular Inventory of the slot that has the tape you need to restore from.

Tried inventory and mounting, didn't help.

If the tape is correctly displayed in the Device window then it points to a problem with the database or communicating with it.
Best to get with CA support but if you want to work through it then detele the tape from the database, restart the Dabase and Tape Engines and then try a Merge on the tape. Also a good idea to run maintence on the database.
