New to the forums.
I am trying to figure out how to use TDPO/TSM to schedule RMAN backups.
But, I need some help on the work flow:
1. TSM schedules RMAN backups
2. TDPO/TSM client will run the RMAN scripts and do backup to the SAN device (only big enough to hold 1 day's worth of backup)
3. TSM server moves RMAN backupset files from SAN device to DADomain for monthly storage.
My questions are:
How does the RMAN catalog maintenance work (crosscheck/obsolete/expired) fit into the TSM server and SAN/DADomain?
Can TSM server or client side have the ability of reporting on RMAN backup results?
If I must restore backupfiles from DADomain, how does TSM know what files of which date to restore from DAD to the db host?
