Post Backup issues: DXI 6700 / HPUX
Hi all,

We are in the process of replacing old Quantum PX 650 to new DXI 6700 upgraded directly with new 2.0.1.1 fw.

The majority of our hosts are HPUX PA-RISC or Itanium (from rp3440 to rx3600, rx8640 even some SD partitions...)
We are emulating HP LTO3 or 4 through Scalar i2000.
Our FOS SAN switches (HP StorageWorks OEM Brocade) are a bit old (5.1.X, 5.2.X, 5.3.X).
Many of our backup or media servers are old in term of HBA drivers or firmwares :
11.11.04, fw 3.3.150 or 3.3.154
11.23.06, fw 4.00.70 or 4.00.90
11.23.0803, fw 4.00.70 or 4.00.90
AB379A or B, Tachyon XL2, A6826 ... HBAs

All of our backups ended with "Writing failure on bloc" issues after saturating FC links for 5, 10 or 20 minutes.
Quantum told us to upgrade to latest HBA drivers (11.23.1009) and/or firmwares but after upgrading some hosts for tests, same results.

FI: In the same environment, we already use DXI 7500 with 1.4.4 firmware without any issues.

Any help appreciated as we desperate a little for now...

After 5 months, it is now clear that the issue was from Quantum/QLogic side.
DXi 6700 fw 2.1.1 + specific patch now seems to handle properly the situation.
