DVD multi-disk set missing .BKF file

Post DVD multi-disk set missing .BKF file
In 2005 I backed-up large video files from my XP Professional systems to DVD. Some sets are multi-disk continuation sets and some are single DVD backups.

I believe that I used NTBackup with Roxio packet-writing drivers installed.
The problem is that none of these DVDs has a .BKF file. The ONLY discreet file on the dVDs is a ReadMe.txt file that contains the following text:

" ===========
Backup CD
===========

This disc is a backup CD.

Except for this file the contents of this disc must be
accessed using your backup software."

On sector 32 there is a brief listing of the contents.

Starting on sector 65 there are the following blocks of meta-data:

The rest of the DVD session track is 4 GB of compressed binary. THERE ARE NO HIDDEN FILES, no .ISO, .BKF, .NBI - nothing.

What type of backup is this and how can I restore these files?

Post missing .bkf file
If I am out of luck, why?

I did a web search and there are nearly a dozen others with the same problem. But no one could help them or tell them what was going on.

That Readme.txt file is a unique foot-print, one placed there by a major backup software package.

Certainly someone recognizes it.

I did a search too and got the same answers you did. That's why I think you're out of luck. Wink Maybe you'll get lucky. I hope you do.
