So my upper management has bought into Microsoft's whole SCOM package (System Center Operations Management). This includes Data Protection Manager (DPM). So I'm looking for any feedback on experiences with deploying it, or ideas on how to best leverage it.
Currently we use NetBackup for VMS, Soloaris, Linux, (including Oracle, MediaBank, and NetBackup it's self) and every currently supported flavor of Windows (running Exchange, SQL, Oracle, Sharepoint, IIS, .net, DNS, etc.). Obviously DPM is not going to work for all of this, but we are primarily a Windows shop and management is pushing us in a direction to become exclusively Windows (yet for some reason our UNIX/Linux foot print keeps growing...).
Anyway, the real question is, has anyone else around here been crazy enough to dump NetBackup for DPM? If so your insights would be greatly appreciated.
