hello!
im looking at getting a lto 3 external tape drive for mac operating system, and i want to spend about $2500-3000. What i would like is some advice on what brand to look for, as well as any advice on how to hook up said device to a mac. I'm a very inexperienced user, so please use as simple an explanation as possible. ANY information would be appreciated!

Before we go down that route, give me an idea of your requirements. Is this your home/office? How much data do you have? What is driving you to LTO?

The enviroment will be home based business, the data to be stored will be in the thousands of gb if not tens of thousands of gb (it will be high definition video of historical value) in the capacity of being backup data for data stored online digitally, and the reason lto is being chosen is due to distrust of digital hard drives failure rate. Another filmaker pointed in this direction after a question about his hivsl footage.
