Backup Central

I have a dell lto4 24 tape library. The server is running w2k3 and rsm has been disbaled in order to allow the archiving solution softare to manage its offline content (20,000 job folders). This works fine and user dont have to access or know anything about the library or archive media, it just fetches it for them when they require a reprint.

I want to find out a way i can share the library so it can continue operating the archive but also run a nightly backup solution. Our live files are currently 500gig on a 2TB server. Ideally i would also like to capture/backup some database dumps from another two intergrated servers that manage the archive system, these are not directly connected to the library but all on the same group.
The Archive database (oracle) runs a nightly pre-backup dump so the dump file can be safely picked up by a backup solution.

Can i share the library to do both archive and backup on different software and if so how?
Any recomendations on what backup software to put in place

Can you partition the library for the different hosts you want to connect it to?
