Got this from a colleague - -
I've seen a few EMC Clariion boxes completely melt (only the older ones,
but we didn't lose any data. I've only seen a few issues with NetApp,
but the issues were traced back to the device being setup incorrectly by
the tech when rolled out of the box. I haven't seen one melt/blow
up/self destruct yet

Subject: [Backups] NetApp Horror Stories
I've heard numerous nightmare stories about organizations losing
TeraBytes of data when their EMC CLARiiON went tango-uniform on them,
but I've not heard any similar horror stories about NetApp storage
arrays. I'm sure it's happened, but I just haven't heard about it.
Can someone out there who is using NetApp for their primary storage, and
who has had a nightmare data-loss scenario, please post their story?
