Hi everyone - someone at my company brought this question up the other day, and so I thought I'd post it here as I thought I'd probably get a "well-rounded" answer !
The problem is that (apparently) Symantec NetBackup, when restoring a complete directory, puts the current time/datestamp on the restored directory, instead of what it was when it was backed up. (Apparently) this is a known issue, and NetBackup says it's intended to work this way. (I say "apparently" because I don't have first-hand knowledge of this, just what I've heard from the guy at my company as well as what I've seen from googling the issue.)
So, the questions are 1) Do others see this same thing, and if so 2) are there backup packages out there that do this "correctly" (ie, restore the original time/datestamp on the recovered folders, rather than the current time) ?
Thanks !
John
