Problem with Norton Save&Restore

Post Problem with Norton Save&Restore
I used Norton Save&Restore to back up a hard drive and now same said software cannot open the iv2i file that it has created. I am getting Error:ED800016 and Error ED800019 when I try to open the files. Not surprisingly, customer support over at Norton are utterly and totally useless.

How can I open the file? I am hoping someone has a suggestion that by-passes any and all Norton software because I am sick of trying those products.
Thanks

Unfortunately you'll need to find out what the error is first. I've seen some issues like that in various versions of Ghost, and each time tended to be a different reason. *sigh* Most of my errors tended to be disk corruption, which didn't make me any happier...

As for support, try here instead. They're great folks, lots of back history and analysis of the various Ghost software:

As for Norton products, well, as always it will depend on the product. For example, you mention Save & Restore - it's really just a 'lite' version of Ghost. I've found Ghost itself (currently on v14) to be both stable and low-memory. It's also gotten more user-friendly over its old DOS-based past.

Best of Luck to ya,

the fault detection is very important else you are unable to be provided with an answer, check norton manuals or internet help
