Simple, fast desktop backup to LTO-4 tape

Post Simple, fast desktop backup to LTO-4 tape
Hi there,

I have been searching in vain for a simple solution to my backup conundrum. I need a Windows based system, ideally Vista 64 bit, that will back up large video files from a 3TB raid to an internal LTO-4 SAS drive.

Unfortunately, all the software I've so far found that will work with LTO-4 is high end server backup systems. Are there any desktop backup packages that will work with LTO-4? I would be happy to try a server solution, but most will not install without a domain.

Any help would be gratefully received!

You should probably examine open-source products. like Amanda, bacula, etc.

Thanks. They all seem very network centric though, is there anything for a single workstation?

Try this approach....

But nevertheless I have to warn you that for desktop to perform backup job, it will be VERY taxing on the machine. Good luck mate!
