Backup Central

has anyone come across issues where you back up jobs will hang for hours and you will have to restart them or cancel them so that other jobs will be able to pick up the drive that is in use by the job that is hung? what could cause this?

Hi,

One of the reason which i had experienced is due to network problem.

Is ur backup infrastructure using the SAN or LAN?

We are going through a LAN

So, i think that the reason for the low performance of the backup and also, keep a eye on the performance of the server ( i mean the client of which the backup is take) when the backup si running.

that is a common problem, its mainly due to network, a network protocol malfunctioning
