I want to import data from a tape that has data from Data Protector 5.5 to a system running Data Protector Express 4. Does anyone know if this can be done?

The tape format is different.

Data Protector and Data Protector Express are 2 different products. You cannot import the tapes. As a work around retrore to a temp place and backup using DP express.
