First let me start by saying I have no Data Protector experience. I've inherited a Data Protector instance that is in need of some serious cleanup. I'm still trying to uncover if we have support through HP.
I've read the DP IDB purge white paper and ran a number of omnidbutil commands to get to a somewhat "cleaner" state.
It appears everything has been retained for 7 years.(I have dailies from 2008 ) A large number of systems have been retired and their data is no longer required. I've selected the objects in the internal DB GUI and set protection to "not protected", then tried a remove version to no avail. How can I get rid of this old data and old clients that are no longer on the network ?
