We use Express 6 to backup data from a backup2disk solution (FalconStor) to tape by mounting the backup snapshots to mountpoints on the tape backup server.
What we notice is that it takes several hours to retrieve the entire folder and file listing for the fileserver (about 700.000 files). The backup of the mounted data to disk is very fast, so performance is no issue, but I am wondering if there is some way to tweak DP to more quickly generate the listing for the selection list.
To give you an idea, the backup runs 5 hours in total, and 2 hours is spent on only generating the selection list. This was a lot faster in 3.5. In the release notes it is mentioned that HP improved the loading of very large file/folder structures, but I see the opposite happening.
Any help would be appreciated!
