Incremental internal database backup size equal to full

Post Incremental internal database backup size equal to full
Hi,

I tested it on 6.0 with latest patches and with 6.11. Every time i do a Full internal database backup, and then create incremental (lv1,2,3 doesnt matter) i end up with backup size equal to full backup of the internal database.

Maybe i'm doing something wrong - or maybe it's some kind of DP feature that makes it impossible to do a incremebtal internal database backup?

Hi -- You are correct. In the case of internal database (IDB) backup, a full backup is always performed to simplify recovery in the event of a disaster.

Thanks for Your reply.

Did You ever see anything in documentation that would explain this behavior? I've looked in many documents and didn't find a word about incremental internal database backed up as full...

No -- I was never able to find anything either in the documentation, but I did get confirmation from HP that this is how it works.
