Reports or Logs for backup job status

Post Reports or Logs for backup job status
Is there a reporting feature that I can configure that will send me reports or log files for backup jobs of particular servers that I need.

We just installed HP Data Protector, slowly transitioning from Symentec Veritas 10-D. Both products are totally different. As you know under Veritas - job monitor you can double click on any completed job and save the job history as well as the job log.

Is there any such feature similar to that on HP Data-Protector, where I can save the job log?

For compliance purpose my company is required to publish job logs on our internal website.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me out.

Omnirpt lists the session for the timeframe in a tab delimited form - can be crunched very nicely:

omnirpt -report list_sessions -timeframe $TM1 $TM2 -tab> ${TMPD}/${$}.tab

This dumps an html output of a session found from the list created from the first report:

omnirpt -report single_session -session $SESSION -html
$REPO/${SESTAG}.html

I am not sure if we have Omnirpt configured with our HP DP. We use HD DP with windows 2003 server so we have a GUI for HP DP not command line. Also there is a 'Reports' tab to select from the drop-down menu where various types of reports cant be configured.

I only want logs for certain servers that are required for compliance purpose. Let me know if you need more information from me. Sorry for confusing.

The Windows version of DP has a command line as well, and the command-line I gave you should do the trick. As to only doing certain servers, you'll need to write a script to do that. I'd install Cygwin/Perl to get that job done.

all of the command line utils, including omnirpt are part of the std install in windows.

if it can't find it at the command line, then the PATH needs work. It should be in C:\Program Files\OmniBack\bin (or similar)

also, there is a "-html" switch that can be used to produce the html file. it replaces the -tab switch.
