Just changed admin passwords on the Media /backup server. Ran a few test jobs and the windows agents all succeeded. The UNIX agents did not. (linux).
I went to the linux hosts and looked under /etc/bkupexec and looked at the configuration file. There are no passwords in the file.
I tried the following:
- restarted all linux agents
I then made a backup of the /etc/bkupexec dir and tried reinstalling the agent. Didn't work so reverted.
Used the Backup Exec Services manager to put new admin password in the services credentials and restarted the service.
**the Unix boxes changed passwords too, but unix does not use the administrator account.
Help?
The specific error is:
Check status : Error: e000846b, The job failed with the following error: The resource could not be backed up because an error occurred while connecting to the Backup Exec for Windows Servers Remote Agent.
Make sure that the Remote Agent is installed on the target computer and is running.
