Recently our backup exec has been hanging during backups at random times on random files. The byte count will completely stop and the timer will continue to run. Canceling the Job takes 1/2 hour or more, if it even cancels, if it doesn't then we have to restart the services. I have googled several different topics and none have a confirmed fix.
There is never an error message and sometimes the backup completes without issue. Our vendor decided to reinstall but it is hard to tell if that fixed what was wrong or if it was just coincedence that they completed for a couple days before it happened again.
Even tho it seems to be hanging on random files at random times it always seems to hang when it is backing up the server it is installed on.
Has anyone experienced this? Any sucess with a permanent fix?
Any input is appreciated as i am running out of hair on my head......
