Backup "successful" with 0 files copied!?

Post Backup "successful" with 0 files copied!?
How can it be that my job to backup a Mac XServe (running the Remote Agent for Mac) returns "successful", but 0 files are copied?

I checked that...
... the selection list is correct;
... the logon credentials are OK;
... media are available.

I tried using the backup bit and modification dates, but I always get the same result: 0 files copied and successful.

What could be causing this?

Note: this is the very first time I am trying to back up this server.

Hi Thomas,

Did you try backing up using the 'copy' backup feature?

Regards,
Vijay

Problem solved after numerous calls to Symantec's call center.

Solution was to install latest upgrades and updates of the Backup Exec and the Agent for Mac OS X Server.

Along the way I discovered that Mac OS X backups will not use the backup bit; incremental backups need to use the file's last modification date.
