I am currently troubleshooting an odd backup issue. We recently began backing up our remote offices using EMC Replistor and the data then comes to our Head Office. At our Head Office we have Quantum SuperLoader3 LTO4 Autoloaders to backup the data. Application wise we are using Backup Exec 10d.
I have created the job to backup this one site (Toronto in this case) and the data is 162GB and is around 425,000 files. The backup takes around 5.5 hours to complete and the approximate throughput as reported by Backup Exec is ~500MB/min. The other jobs that are put through on the same server on the same array are ~1300MB/s.
Is there a better way to configure BackupExec to complete this faster? I am assuming that the amount of files in the job are the issue.
