Reporting off of the Backup Exec database / Job Log

Post Reporting off of the Backup Exec database / Job Log
Hello,

I am trying to do some work to analyze the job history by reporting
directly off of the Backup Exec SQL database. In looking through all
of the tables, it seems this one is the most useful for job logs:

dbo.JobHistoryDetail

My question is, does BE break apart an individual job into sub-jobs
inside the database? The numbers for the byte counts that I see in
there, along with many other things like dates, etc, don't line up
with what I see by browsing the job logs visually; they also don't
match up with the actual times the jobs run, etc -- it looks like some
reverse engineering may be required to understand the data directly
from the DB.

Has anyone ever tried to report on job activity directly from the BE
database? Any hints?? Smile

Thank you all very kindly,

katsu

I think trying to get the data directly from the BEDB will be quite difficult... You may try with the Backup Exec Reporter tool which is desgined to extract better reports from the BEDB.
