I have Exchange 2003 running on Windows 2003 SBS, all updated and patched. Backup Exec for Windows Server 11d (Build 7170) runs our backups on this server.
I have setup weekly and nightly backups through two jobs:
. full backup run weekly, on Friday. The archive bit is reset and the committed exchange transaction logs are set to be flushed.
. differential backups run nightly, using the archive bit.
backups run fine, both full and differential, although exchange's transaction logs are not being flushed, and I'm watching them grow.
In going through Backup Exec's documentation, I have verified that all of the full/diff settings are correct. I have also taken the stores offline, run the eseutil to check them for consistency. The stores had been committed fully, so I moved the old transaction logs to another directory, remounted the stores and ran a new full backup. The logs still weren't flushed.
Any suggestions, recommendations?
I'm not sure where I am going wrong.
