Backup Central

I need to cleanup a backup enterprise that has been handed over to me. I need to cleanup about 800+ old backup jobs as well as about 600 old restore jobs. I need to keep the catalog intact and I'm sick of deleting a backup via the GUI, one backup job at a time.

Any advice/pointers for me??

Starting with 3.0.1 with the latest SOCS update, Syncsort has enhanced the GUI to allow the user to multi select jobs and delete them. If you still need further assistance, please contact BEX support for assistance.

Sorry my friend, but this is BackEx 3.1 and no matter how I may try, I can only remove 1 backup job at a time. No matter how I hold my mouth while clicking.

Dennis, I just tried it under 3.1.1 with SOCS patch 0312 and this option is avail. What patch level are you at?

PS: If you don't want to apply the patch set to your MS, then you can download the .jar file and extract out the GUI using winzip. With the patch the BackupExpress.jar is located under patchroot\reloc\server\http\gui.

OK..downloaded the 3.1.1 GUI and it's working fine.

I also found that I needed to delete Eight THOUSAND backup jobs and leave the remaining 6 backups. I get to cleanup the restore jobs next. What a MESS.!!!!!
