Bear with me guys, I'm just taking Syncsort BE v2.35.2 out of the box and intend using it to backup my 65 Netware servers in the coming months.
Master server will be hosted on W2K3 server. Netware filestore will be SAN based and I'll be using two MSL4048 Fibre Channel Tape Libraries to backup the data.
Now, as a newbie, where should I start

Hello Tony,
I am a software engineer for Backup Express and read your posting on the Backup Central Forum. To get started on the installation, I would recommend reading the Getting Started Guide, referring to the Installation_Guide.pdf and Configuration_Guide.pdf which are found on the CD-ROM. If you still need further assistance, please contact our support center at (201) 930-8280.

Don and the Syncsort support staff have been great help for us and our many master backup servers. One thing to be sure of is that you have Sun JVM 5 Release 8 installed on any machine that you are going to configure/monitor your backups from. The GUI for 2.35.2 needs IE and Java in order for the GUI to work smoothly.
Most all our servers are Unix/Linux servers with Windows machines only being clients. It's a good product and I'm sure you'll like the interface and function of BackEx.
