amrecover/amindexd problem

Post amrecover/amindexd problem
Hi,

I have installed both amanda server and client on the same machine (running
NetBSD 1.61) with user=ROOT and group=operator (self-compile). I have
successfully made a backup with amanda 2.4.4p2. But now I have problems
recovering the data. I got the following message when I run amrecover with
configuration name backup

typha# amrecover backup
AMRECOVER Version 2.4.4p2. Contacting server on typha.nmsu.edu ...
amrecover: Unexpected end of file, check amindexd*debug on server
typha.nmsu.edu

I can't find the amindexd*.debug in my machine. Here is the content of
amrecover*.debug

typha# more amrecover.20040614134015.debug
amrecover: debug 1 pid 6557 ruid 0 euid 0: start at Mon Jun 14 13:40:15 2004
amrecover: stream_client_privileged: connected to 128.123.95.233.10082
amrecover: stream_client_privileged: our side is 0.0.0.0.700

Then when I run amindexd I got the following error

typha# /usr/pkg/libexec/amindexd
amindexd: error [cannot find user root in passwd file]

I would appreciate if anyone could help me to resolve that problem.
Thank you,

Co Ngo
