Post Odd email this morning from amanda
Greetings;

REPOST #4, what the heck??? Why are my posts going into a black hole?
Never mind, I was using the wrong account, this is still a gmail
subscription

Most other indications are that the backup was successful, but the email
I got from the backup.sh wrapper script contained this:

): WARNING **: Use of uninitialized value $2 in string eq at
/usr/local/sbin/amstatus line 580, <AMDUMP> line
1645.

** (process:24848): WARNING **: Use of uninitialized value $3 in division
(/) at /usr/local/sbin/amstatus line
583, <AMDUMP> line 1645.

And when I got up just now (at 4am this msg never came back), x was asking
me for a login, and when I did, it was very slow to start. But the only
lines in the log was 55 minutes after amanda started and was preceded by a
usb reset on the port my wireless keyboard/mouse is on:

At this point I have no other clues. I had been in bed for about 2 hours,
so it wasn't anything I did unless I'm sleep walking. Wink

This would have been about the time amanda finished.
This was 3.2.1-svn.3744, first run. However, I just ran an amstatus Daily,
and got the same 2 error lines shown above in the shell I ran it from, so
it looks as if 3.2.1-svn.3744's amstatus might need a little more time in
the oven.

I think the canary is going back to bed now...
(he did, but this post never came back and its had most of 8 hours)

Another followup on this, I just noticed that the size figures printed, and
emailed to me, are all trashed and nonsensical.

I'm going to backup one version, these reports are less than useful.

Gene,

When you have an amstatus bug, always post the amdump log file use, it
is printed on the first output line.

Do you expect someone to fix a bug with only that information?
Post the report, tell us the values you think are nor correct.
And more important, post the log.<datestamp>.? file used to generate the
report.
