Post tar 1.2.6
I see is available from the pclos repo's this morning, so I'm going to take
a chance. I'll report if it works tonight.

As Gen. de Gaulle occassionally acknowledges America to be the daughter
of Europe, so I am pleased to come to Yale, the daughter of Harvard.

It looks as if it is working. I had another problem, pclos updated cronie,
and for some fool reason, the crontab directory got moved, so nothing I was
depending on cron to do was done for about 30 hours. I meowed some on the
pclos forum, as did a few others over that!

So finally, linux once again has a tar that amanda can use. What has it
been, 5, 6 months now we've had to make sure the package managers didn't
update 1.23?

Those gnu folks run in their own little world I guess.

I think Gene does a nightly download and build and install
of the most recent verzion just before kicking off of amdump.
I think his crontab script does all of it automatically Smile)

amanda-3.2.1.svn.3841.tar.gz

Not quite, Jon. In fact I am rather disappointed at the turn of events
since that announcement, that was the last word from anyone about amanda
AFAIK.

In fact, after the ballyhooed 3.2.2 release, I went looking for a tarball I
could build & test, but all I could find were pre-builts for several
distro's, none of which I actually run here, which is the 32 bit version of
pclos-current.

The net result is that I am still running amanda-3.2.1.svn.3841.tar.gz as
no new versions have been released on the zmanda site since 3-8-2011. In
case no one has noticed, it is now 3-22-2011, 2 full weeks of absolute
silence.

So I am puzzled and need to ask TPTB what is going on, specifically, is
Zmanda now out of the picture? and if so, then its time all the automatic
redirect links that wind up there were fixed to point at where ever the
snapshots _are_ being kept now.

Hello? Knock, knock... Anybody home? (cept us chickens)

Downloading from http://amanda.org/download.php (which re-directs
to sourceforge) seems to work for me.
