Backup Central

Hi All.

I read the release notes for amanda-3.2.1 but there
is a sentence that I cannot understand.

The sentence is:
Script output property are not sent to application

What is "script output property"?

What document of amanda explains this?

A pre-backup script can send property to the application, this is useful
if the pre-script create a snapshot and you want the application to
backup the snapshot.
It's use by amzfs-snapshot script to send the DIRECTORY property to amgtar.

Read the application man pages to know which properties each application
accept.

I read amzfs-snapshot, amgtar, client_util.c and so on.
Now I understand a meaning of "script output property"
as follows:

When Amanda executes a certain script, its STDOUT is
read by Amanda. If the line Amanda read matches
"PROPERTY str1 str2", Amanda sets a property called
"str1" by the value of "str2" so that subsequent
commands that Amanda will run can refer it.
