2nd full backup is very slow
Author Message
Post 2nd full backup is very slow
I have a server that I successfully made a full backup of that took 438m (7.3h)
which wasn't too bad. Incrementals took 1-2hrs each.

On Monday night it started a full backup at 05:23 and at 11am I had to stop the
backup because I had to allow access to a service on the machine (we
lock/unlock the service as part of the backup.. great job there Craig)..

Last night, the server attempted to continue to fill the partial that it had
saved. It started the backup at 00:29 and at 10am it was only about 1/2 done.

Is filling a partial full backup more time consuming than a regular backup?

Is it possible that because this is the 2nd full backup, something is being
checked in the existing backup tree that's causing this to take so long?

Preferrably, I'd like this full backup to always happen on Saturday night, but I
haven't found a way to force that as of yet, other than maybe sitting around
one Saturday and manually requesting a full.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Again Craig, and others, thanks for a great product.
