Backup to TAR-Archive
Author Message
Post Backup to TAR-Archive
Hi,
I plan to use backupc to backup three pc's to a external USB2-disk.
Since this disk is also used for some other operations I have to stay
with the FAT32-system. Is it possible to instruct backuppc to store the
files in a TAR-archive on the external disk (or something similar)?

Thanks in advance,
Jochen

You can't directly use a FAT32 filesystem for your backuppc data store. It
doesn't support hard links.

You *could* concievably create a large file on that drive, and mount it as a
loopback filesystem, then format that with some filesystem that supports
hard links. You will take a small performance hit for this, tho.
