assuming that I'm using BackupPC and I succesfully archived the backups onto
DVD.
If a disaster occur and i lose both clients and servers. I can easily get
new computers from the local stores preinstalled with a blend of XP and get
my users working on them right away.
- Is there a way to restore their files before I can setup a new server and
copy the archived backup onto it?
- once my new server is up and running, can I simply copy the files I
archived onto DVD into the BackupPC directories? Assuming that I gave the
same name to each users' computer (even if their IP is different) that
should work and start incrementing the backup from when the last archive was
made?
Just want to make sure I have everything I need to get restarted in case of
disaster. Backuping is nice but only if you can restore quickly
Thanks for your help.
