Post handling of non-existent rysnc module(s) to backup
Hello,

I'm currently using backupPC-2.0.1beta0 to backup Windows machines thanks to
a rsync daemon on them ( $Conf{XferMethod} = 'rsyncd' ).

I declared 5 rsync resources to backup in the (main) conf/config.pl:

$Conf{RsyncShareName} = ['bkpc1', 'bkpc2', 'bkpc3', 'bkpc4', 'bkpc5'];

Of course, most people needs only 1 or 2 resources to backup, so when their
machine is backuped, backupPC considers that the full/incr. backup failed,
since some rsync modules are not defined: this kind of backup is considered
as 'partial'.

And when a partial backup occurs, it's not a "regular" one, so next backup
will try to merged with the previous (partial) one Sad

In my mind, I would consider that the backup is OK, since each rsync
resource available were (well) backuped.

The workaround is to create as different as least 5 different config files,
and keep them up with the current configuration of the windows machine to
backup ... Not so fun, and implies constant intervention of the sysadmin,
instead of having a great flexibility (the user may control want must be
backuped or not).

Is it a good idea (and is possible to code) that BackupPC may distinguish
that way of doing, e.g. consider that a correct backup of a rsync resource
is not a partial one, even if other rsync resource(s) failed to be backupped
for the same host ?

comments ?

PS: BackupPC is like rsync: a tool you don't why it has not be written
sooner ! Thanks for it !
