Interface problem - backuppc tries to ping host with backups
Author Message
Post Interface problem - backuppc tries to ping host with backups
Somebody left the office and before I reformated his disk I made a complete backup and set it up as:

$Conf{FullPeriod} = -2;
$Conf{FullKeepCnt} = 1;

But it's still shown in yellow stating that it could not be ping'ed. Shouldn't it always be at the "nothing to do" state?

I'm using Debian version 2.0.2-1.

Eduardo.

PD: It's an awesome program. It's now backing up all the Macs, Linux, Windows98 and Windows2000 desktops and the linux servers.

I'm using Debian version 2.0.2-1.

In 2.0.2 if there was an error (eg: no ping) when the machine
was set to $Conf{FullPeriod} = -2, that error will persist.

In 2.1.0beta1 the error will be reset after 4 days. There
was a request to make this time configurable, but currently
it is hardcoded.

If you want to clear the error in 2.0.2, remove the host from the hosts
file (don't remove the data directory /DATA/BackupPC/pc/HOST), reload
the hosts file, then re-add the host to the hosts file.

Craig
