Large files from win32 clients?

Post Large files from win32 clients?
Has there been any progress on backing up large files (couple gig and up)
on win32 clients? We've got some machines where backups are failing .. it
runs for a while, then "gives up" and the backup fails. I've had worse
results with rsync in the past, these machines are using smb currently.

Sidenote to that, couldn't the backup just move on when something goes
wrong? Or would that involve us enumerating the files in backupexec instead
of using smbclient or rsync's wildcards?

What errors do you get? Is it a "CODE 0" or "SUCCESS 0" error?
If so, that could indicate you have corrupted windows file systems.
Running chkdisk should fix it.

I believe smbclient 3.0 does work for up to 4GB files.

If things get messed up then the Xfer method can't recover.

In CVS a partial backup will be kept if a full backup fails, so at least
the good part of the backup is kept. Rsync also knows now how to resume
the backup from the partial.
