Gang,
I have one machine that is persistently generating errors when I start the
rsyncd service -- error 1067: the service has terminated unexpectedly.
This user's PC *had* cygwin installed, and that has now been totally purged,
and rsync re-installed. When I fire up the service.bat file, the first
command works (install), but second fails:
cygrunsrv: Error Starting a service: QueryServiceStatus: Win32 error 1062:
This service has not been started.
[Note: I cannot find that service in the services list on this or other XP
machines.]
Attempts to start rsync (net start or through control panel / admin / svcs)
generate:
The rsync service could not be started.
A system error has occured.
System error 1067 has occured.
The process has terminated unexpectedly.
Any suggestions on what to try to resolve this (having this user re-install
windows is going to be a really ugly option!).
Thanks,
Todd
