Craig,
No responses to my message, so I revisited the documentation and
confirmed, that per the docs, Readonly = true in my rsyncd.conf.
---snip---
Note that for direct restore to work, the $Conf{XferMethod} must be able
to write to the client. For example, that means an SMB share for smbclient
needs to be writable, and the rsyncd module needs ``read only'' set to
``yes''.
---/snip---
I thought about it and realized that was an error: for restore to work,
the rsyncd parm should be readonly=false.
Made that change and have been able to do some restores. Please correct
that item in the docs when you get a chance. Thanks,
Todd
